Sills and Huniford are two of America's most creative interior designers.
Sills Huniford Associates has an extraordinary talent for transforming interiors with furniture and furnishings from the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries to create environments for modern living. Sills and Huniford find inspiration in 17th and 18th century furniture, old masters paintings, Italian, Belgian, French and Austrian architecture. They have a keen sense for the backbone of a room including the structure and architecture. They enjoy working with rare materials such as parchment, shagreen, honed stones, limed oak, and tooled leather. Stephen Sills and James Huniford formed the company in 1984.

They have designed projects for a diverse group of people including Nan Swid, Vera Wang, Anna Wintour, Yves André Istel, Linda Wells, The Newhouse family, Tina Turner, Jane Pratt, Brooke DeOcampo, Lauren and Richard Dupont, The Starwood Properties/St. Regis and The Rockefeller family. Sills Huniford Associates projects have appeared in numerous publications including Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, House & Garden, World of Interiors, Vogue, Maison & Jardin, W, Italian Elle Décor, French Elle Décor, British House & Garden, New York Magazine, The New York Times, Harper's Bazaar and the Herald Tribune.

Stephen Sills and James Huniford recently completed their first book entitled DWELLINGS: Living with Great Style. The book provides real guidance and insight on how to think about the home you want to create and gives specific knowledge, from sources to techniques. The book was published by Bulfinch Press, a division of Time Warner Book Group and is currently in stores.

Sills and Huniford have also launched their home furnishings line "Dwellings". The line includes their custom designed pieces of upholstery, lighting, and tables; it is available for viewing at DwellingsHome.com or by appointment at their Manhattan showroom. Vintage furniture pieces found from their many shopping trips will also be available for purchase.
